Kam Williams and Trent Noah Near Return as Injury Recoveries Progress — Will They Be Ready for Game 1?
With Kentucky Basketball preparing for the start of the new season, the Wildcats have provided encouraging updates on the injury recoveries of Trent Noah and Kam Williams.
Kentucky head coach Mark Pope addressed the team’s health situation Monday, providing details on the progress of both players ahead of Big Blue Madness.

Trent Noah Making Progress
Noah suffered a hamstring injury during the summer, forcing him to miss some workouts as a precaution. However, after aggravating the injury, he was expected to miss the entire exhibition season.
Kentucky has since announced that Noah’s hamstring is improving and that the program hopes to have him back within a few weeks.
While Noah is expected to miss most, if not all, of the exhibition schedule, his recovery timeline leaves open the possibility of returning for the beginning of the regular season.
The timing will be important for Kentucky, as Noah is expected to take on a larger role during his third year of college basketball. His ability to contribute offensively, particularly as a shooter, could provide additional spacing for the Wildcats.
Kam Williams Undergoing Recovery
Williams is also working his way back from an injury, with Kentucky remaining hopeful that he will be available when the regular season begins.
However, like Noah, Williams is unlikely to participate in the exhibition schedule.
Pope explained that Williams suffered a reinjury to a previous Jones fracture that had not fully healed. As a result, the guard underwent more extensive surgery.
“We have very high expectations of him to be back healthy,” Pope said, expressing confidence in Williams’ recovery.
Williams averaged 6.0 points per game last season while shooting 36 percent from three-point range. Despite his struggles, he showed flashes of his potential, including a standout performance against Bellarmine in which he scored 26 points and made eight three-pointers.
Kentucky Awaits Key Returns
Kentucky will get its first opportunity to showcase the team at Big Blue Madness, although several players are expected to remain sidelined.
For Noah and Williams, the primary focus remains their recovery. Kentucky is hopeful that both players can return in time for the start of regular-season action, but their availability for Game 1 will ultimately depend on how their rehabilitation progresses.
The Wildcats will continue to monitor both players closely as the regular season approaches.
