Arsenal Handed Fresh Injury Blow as Christos Tzolis Suffers Hamstring Problem
Arsenal have been handed a potential injury setback after summer signing Christos Tzolis was forced off during Greece’s Nations League clash with the Netherlands on Thursday.
The 24-year-old winger started the match in Thessaloniki but was unable to continue after just 17 minutes after appearing to suffer a hamstring injury.

Tzolis received treatment on the pitch and appeared visibly upset as he covered his face with his shirt. After several minutes of medical attention, he was substituted, with Giorgos Masouras coming on in his place.
The full extent of the injury is not yet known. Reports from Greece indicate that Tzolis will undergo further assessment on Friday to determine the severity of the problem.
The injury comes at an unfortunate time for the Arsenal forward, who has made an impressive start to the season since arriving from Club Brugge. He has registered four assists in eight appearances for Arsenal across all competitions.
Tzolis has also been in strong form for Greece, scoring in their 2-1 victory over Serbia last week before featuring in their win over Germany.
Growing Injury Concerns at Arsenal
Tzolis’ latest setback could add to Mikel Arteta’s selection concerns ahead of Arsenal’s return to Premier League action against Leeds United on October 10.
Arsenal are already dealing with several injury problems. William Saliba is expected to remain sidelined until November with a back injury, while Kai Havertz is also being assessed after suffering a hamstring problem while representing Germany.
Cristhian Mosquera, Ben White and Declan Rice are also currently sidelined, although the trio are expected to be in contention for a return against Leeds.
Arsenal will now wait for further medical assessments on Tzolis before determining how long the winger could be unavailable.
