When the Wildcats take the court next season under new head coach Casey Alexander, only one player will connect the team to Kansas State’s previous basketball roster. Andrej Kostic is the sole remaining Wildcat from this year’s squad at Bramlage Coliseum. That reality was confirmed on Monday, when Elias Rapieque entered the transfer portal. Rapieque becomes the ninth player to leave via transfer following the dismissal of Jerome Tang. The 6-foot-9 junior forward from Germany spent just one season in Manhattan, averaging 3.7 points, 2.6 rebounds, and 1.5 assists across 20 appearances. Though he started 20 games for K-State, an injury sidelined him for over a month, and he finished the season coming off the bench. In total, Kansas State is losing nine transfers and four seniors. Kostic a 6-foot-6 freshman guard from Serbia is the only player from last season’s roster who has publicly committed to returning and playing for Alexander.
The upcoming roster will look vastly different, but the Wildcats have already been active in reshaping it. Alexander has secured two high school recruits and eight incoming transfers, leaving up to four additional roster spots to fill.
