Just over a week after announcing his intention to return to Auburn for the 2026-27 season, Sebastian Williams Adams has now decided to enter the transfer portal. He becomes the fifth Tiger to do so this offseason, joining Filip Jovic, Kaden Magwood, Elyjah Freeman, and Abdul Bashir.
The update, reported by 247Sports’ Nathan King, arrives only hours after Troy transfer Thomas Dowd and Creighton transfer Owen Freeman both committed to joining Steven Pearl’s second unit at Auburn. Dowd, an All-Sun Belt forward for Troy, posted a double-double average of 14.4 points and 10.1 rebounds per game. Freeman, a 6-foot-10 shot-blocker, contributed 5 points and 4 rebounds per contest with the Bluejays.
Earlier in the offseason, Auburn also brought in 7-foot-1 Santa Clara transfer Bukky Oboye, another elite rim protector who converted 101 of his 131 two-point attempts (77%) during the 2025-26 season.
This move by the freshman forward is certainly unexpected, especially given the influx of frontcourt talent. The former four-star recruit averaged 7 points, 3.5 rebounds, nearly one block, and just over one steal per game while logging 27.3 minutes per contest. Though those numbers aren’t eye-popping, he remains a player likely to improve with added experience.
