The Victoria Royals secured their second-ever B.C. Division title in the WHL, defeating the Prince George Cougars 6-3 on Friday night. This marks their first divisional title since the 2015-16 season. The victory was a surprising turn, given pre-season expectations that the defending-champion Cougars, led by NHL prospects, would dominate. Teydon Trembecky scored twice, bringing his total to 46 goals, while Cole Reschny set a franchise assist record with 66. The Royals also saw contributions from Markus Loponen, Logan Pickford, and Nate Misskey. Victoria is now guaranteed home-ice advantage in the playoffs, where they’ll face a likely match-up with the Tri-City Americans.
