Several notable changes are taking place with the University of Montana Grizzlies football team as the offseason begins.
**Sawyer Racanelli**, a key wide receiver, has officially entered the transfer portal with one year of eligibility left. After transferring from Washington three years ago, Racanelli played a significant role this past season, catching 30 passes for 409 yards and two touchdowns. His departure leaves a void in the Grizzlies’ receiving corps, especially as the team loses its top receivers to graduation.
**Kaden Huot**, a former Grizzlies quarterback from Helena, has announced his transfer to **Carroll College**, where he hopes to start next season after the Saints’ long-time quarterback, Jack Prka, graduated.
On the other hand, the Grizzlies have made two notable additions to their roster. **Elijawah Tolbert**, a linebacker from **Eastern Illinois**, is joining Montana after a strong defensive career. Tolbert, 6-foot-1 and 230 pounds, was named to all-conference teams in 2022 and 2023, totaling impressive stats, including 87 tackles and an interception in 2023.
Additionally, **Korbin Hendrix**, a 6-foot-3 wide receiver from **Arizona State**, is transferring to Montana with four years of eligibility remaining. Hendrix redshirted his first year at Arizona State and did not play in any games.
These moves, both departures and additions, will shape the Grizzlies’ roster as they look ahead to the upcoming season.
