The coaching staff at Kentucky Basketball has been keeping busy over the past couple of weeks, now that the transfer portal is in full motion. With nine players currently on the roster for the 2026-27 season, head coach Mark Pope has roughly six scholarship openings to fill.

As reported by KSR’s Jacob Polacheck, the Wildcats have set their sights on international prospect Ousmane N’Diaye. Standing 6-foot-11 and weighing 210 pounds, the big man is still awaiting NCAA clearance, though there’s optimism it could arrive soon. Originally from Senegal, N’Diaye would be a major pickup for a Kentucky squad that is in urgent need of frontcourt depth.
At 22 years old, N’Diaye hails from Guediawaye, Senegal. He first gained attention in basketball circles when he took part in the BWB camp in 2016. Notably, former Kentucky player Eric Bledsoe served as a coach at that same camp.
During the 2025-26 season overseas, N’Diaye put together a solid campaign while playing for Vanoli Cremona. He averaged 10.2 points on 42.1% field goal shooting, along with 6.7 rebounds, 0.9 steals, and 0.5 blocks in 27.3 minutes per contest.

N’Diaye has appeared on NBA Draft boards for several years. He initially submitted his name for the 2023 draft but withdrew before the deadline. He remained in the 2025 draft pool but ultimately went unselected.
An athletic big man with raw ability and a well-rounded game, N’Diaye has also been working to extend his range, improving his jump shot from beyond the arc. This past season, he connected on 32.1% of his three-point attempts on five tries per game.
It’s clear why the Wildcats have a genuine interest in adding N’Diaye to their lineup.
