(MANHATTAN, Kansas) Jeff Mittie, head coach of the K-State women’s basketball team, has strengthened the 2026-27 roster with another international player. Guard Tèa Clèante (pronounced TAY-uh KLE-ahn-t), a native of France, has signed with the Wildcats.
“We’re thrilled to bring Tèa on board—she’s an energetic and versatile guard,” Mittie said. “She can score, set up her teammates, and make an impact on defense with her quickness and tenacity.”

Clèante, who will be a sophomore during the 2026-27 season, arrives at K-State after spending a year at Penn State. She appeared in 28 games, starting 24, and recorded 244 points (8.7 per game) while shooting 40.6% from the field (93-of-229) and 30.2% from three-point range (35-of-116). She reached double figures in scoring 10 times, including two games with 20 or more points topping out with a career-high 23 at Saint Joseph’s on November 16.
Hailing from Dunkerque, France, Clèante had nine games with two or more made three-pointers, including a career-best five at Saint Joseph’s. She also dished out 80 assists (2.9 per game), with a career-high eight against VCU on December 20.
Before her time with the Nittany Lions, Clèante represented the French national team starting at the U17 level. She helped France claim two gold medals at the European Basketball Championships in 2024. During the gold-medal run at the 2024 FIBA U18 Women’s EuroBasket, she averaged 13.3 points, 3.7 assists, and 1.4 rebounds per game.

In seven games at the 2023 FIBA Women’s European Championship, Clèante posted averages of 10.1 points, 3.4 assists, and 3.1 rebounds.
The 2026-27 K-State roster will include players from the United States, Belgium, France, Slovenia, and Spain.
K-State wrapped up its 58th season in 2025-26 with a 19-18 overall record, marking the team’s fifth straight postseason appearance and its 10th in the last 12 seasons. The Wildcats will return seven letterwinners for the 2026-27 campaign.
