Neil Young endorsed Kamala Harris for president.
In a blog post shared in the Neil Young archives, the legendary musician explained why he supports the candidate of the Democratic Party over his rival Donald Trump.
“Kamala Harris – She’s a true outspoken, honest, experienced White House, no ambiguity or evasiveness, straight to the point,” Young said.
“Lyric, young enough to serve in this position for many bright terms in the future, Kamala Harris is a good person who is not afraid to take on criminals and uphold the law of the United States,” he added. “She is my candidate for the future of this country.” Young concluded his blog post by saying, “Kamala Harris is going to join the billionaire class and make them pay their fair share of taxes. I owe him no favors. She is a kind and caring American woman. I vote for a bright future for your family.”
The 70-year-old rock star, who is a known critic of Trump, had threatened to sue the former president for using his music at campaign rallies without permission. At the same time, he allowed Harris’ running mate, Gov. Tim Walz, to use his song “Rockin’ in the Free World” at campaign events.
