The Washington Chiefs have solidified their interior offensive line for the next few years. During the offseason, they signed center Tyler Biadasz and left guard Nick Allegretti to stabilize the offensive line. On Wednesday, they awarded right guard Sam Cosmi a four-year, $75 million contract with $45 million guaranteed to keep him in Washington for the next five years. The former Longhorn is entering the final year of his rookie contract and has been impressive since being drafted out of the University of Texas. After the deal was finalized, the former second-round pick spoke to reporters and explained why he wanted to stay in Washington. “I really like what AP and DQ are doing,” Cosmi said. “Obviously, Mr. Harris invests a lot of money and invests in the team and doing all that, and we also see. I just think that we have a lot of tools available now and people who really care about this football. And this is where you want to be” It’s just to show that when you treat your players right, the franchise right, and provide a leader your players can get behind, everything falls into place.
He also mentioned a starting quarterback, saying: “I think we have a special, special guy that I can protect and very talented and it makes me excited to be here for the next four or five years, I hope the commanders and Jayden Daniels are also happy that Cosmi stays.
