Inhaler Cancel July 2025 Stadium Tour in Emotional Statement: “This Wasn’t Easy for Us”
By NME Staff – April 19, 2025
In a heartfelt announcement shared across their social media channels late last night, Irish rock band Inhaler confirmed the cancellation of their highly anticipated July 2025 stadium tour, citing “deep personal and emotional reasons” that have left fans around the world stunned and sympathetic.
The band, who were set to headline several major venues across Europe and North America—including a sold-out homecoming show at Dublin’s Aviva Stadium—issued an emotional video message accompanied by a written statement that quickly went viral.
“This wasn’t easy for us,” frontman Elijah Hewson said in the clip, visibly moved. “We’ve been dreaming about these shows for years, and the support we’ve seen from all of you has been overwhelming. But after a lot of difficult conversations, we’ve decided it’s best to take a step back—at least for July.”
While the band didn’t go into full detail about the reasons behind the decision, fans have speculated health concerns and the emotional toll of constant touring may have played a role. In their statement, Inhaler noted that “a mix of exhaustion, personal matters, and the need to protect our mental well-being” were factors that led them to pause.
“This tour was meant to be a celebration,” the statement read. “But right now, we wouldn’t be able to give you the version of Inhaler you deserve. That’s not fair to you or to us. We owe it to our fans to be at our best—not just on stage, but off it, too.”
The band reassured fans that the cancellation affects only the July dates, and that other legs of the tour—including North America in February and Europe in May—remain unchanged. Ticket holders for July shows will be offered full refunds or credit toward future dates, with some rescheduled announcements expected in the coming weeks.
The news was met with an outpouring of support from fans and fellow musicians alike. Irish singer Dermot Kennedy commented, “You’ve got to take care of yourselves first. Big love to the boys.” Meanwhile, U2—frontman Elijah Hewson’s father Bono’s band—shared a message of solidarity: “Sometimes the hardest decisions are the most courageous. Much love from the family.”
Inhaler have built a loyal following since the release of their debut album It Won’t Always Be Like This and their electrifying live shows have become a hallmark of their success. Their 2024 album Echo Youth cemented their status as one of rock’s brightest rising stars.
While fans may be disappointed, the tone online is overwhelmingly one of understanding. As one fan wrote on X (formerly Twitter), “Take your time, lads. We’ll be here when you’re ready.”
For now, Inhaler’s July stadium silence will be filled not with music, but with the echo of love, loyalty, and the importance of taking care of yourself—even at the peak of success.
