Kevin Schwantz has warned Pecco Bagnaia that he will be more in demand next season when Marc Marquez becomes his teammate.
Marquez won the battle for the Ducati factory seat in 2025 and will be with Bagnaia in a star-studded team. But their relationship will be under the microscope, with both drivers fighting for this year’s championship and guaranteed to target the title in 2025 as well.
“It’s definitely going to be a great team, that’s for sure,” said Schwantz, the 1993 500cc champion.
“Are the two drivers in the same garage? What will be achieved by the two drivers who go to the fastest? “It will be interesting. This will continue to increase the advantage of Ducati and Ducati.
“They also have satellite motorcycles too.”
Pramac’s Jorge Martin is currently leading the MotoGP championship ahead of this weekend’s Indonesian round. But Bagnaia, the current partner Enea Bastianini and the Marquez of Gresini are in contention.
“The competition between Marc and Pecco will continue from this year, of course, until next season,” said Schwantz.
“The first person you don’t want to get beat is your teammate. It’s hard to have a good teammate unless he’s close to beating you!
“There is some rivalry in the team, some competition. Enea Bastianini has been a good competitor to Bagnaia at some points, but I think Marquez will push him every weekend.”
