Texas football quarterback Arch Manning put on a performance that everyone will be talking about for days, weeks and maybe forever. Against the UTSA Roadrunners in Texas on Saturday night, Manning was called upon in the second quarter to replace the injured Quinn Ewers, and he immediately delivered for the Longhorns. Arch Manning threw a touchdown pass on his first drive of the game, and a few possessions later Texas was able to take the ball to the house for a 67-yard score that sent everyone crazy on the line. Even former Indianapolis Colts tight end Pat McAfee, who played with Arch’s uncle, Peyton Manning, was impressed — too impressed to entertain the possibility that Arch could one day be Manning’s best. “He could end up being the best Manning yet…Crazy to think,” McAfee posted on X (the social media platform that used to be Twitter).
This is saying a lot, considering that Arch is, as I mentioned before, the grandson of Peyton and Eli Manning. Peyton and Eli won Super Bowls between them, with the former now a member of the College Football Hall of Fame and the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Arch finished the game against UTSA with 223 passing yards and four touchdowns against zero interceptions on 9 of 12 completions Corsi also ran for 53 yards and a touchdown on just three carries.
