Damian Lillard Eyes Historic Three-Peat in 3-Point Contest at All-Star Weekend, Seeking First Since 1992
Superstar Milwaukee Bucks point guard Damian Lillard is gearing up for a high-stakes weekend at the Chase Center, with his eyes set on making NBA All-Star history.

The 6-foot-2 Weber State product, named to his ninth All-Star squad, isn’t just aiming to appear in another All-Star game—he’s focused on etching his name in the record books. On Saturday, Lillard will attempt to become the first player to claim a three-peat in the prestigious 3-Point Contest since 1992, when Chicago Bulls’ Craig Hodges achieved the feat, famously hitting 19 consecutive triples in the semifinals.
Lillard faces stiff competition this year, including three-time All-Star Jalen Brunson of the New York Knicks, two-time All-Star Darius Garland of the Cleveland Cavaliers, and other standout shooters like Cade Cunningham, Tyler Herro, and Norman Powell. The 34-year-old Lillard, who’s currently hitting 38.2% of his 9.1 three-point attempts per game, enters the contest as the favorite with +400 odds, according to BetMGM. While he’s no longer in his All-NBA prime, the lethal scorer is still a major threat from deep.
With fellow nine-time All-Star Giannis Antetokounmpo sidelined due to injury, Lillard is the Bucks’ sole representative in the weekend’s mini-tournament, ready to add yet another historic achievement to his illustrious career. Will he make history again? Only time will tell.
