The Denver Broncos rushed for 89 yards in the first half against the Los Angeles Chargers but only managed 21 yards in the second half, despite holding a lead for much of that time. Javonte Williams continued to get a significant number of touches, but he’s struggling to make defenders miss or break tackles as effectively as he once did.
Williams had 15 touches, gaining just 53 yards (3.5 yards per touch). He did have one of his longest runs of the season, a 15-yard gain on 3rd and 2 in the first quarter, but his other three carries gained only 9 yards combined. Out of the 46 runners with enough carries to qualify, Williams ranks 43rd in yards per carry. Only Gus Edwards, Nick Chubb, and Alex are below him in this category.
