Seth Jones is heading to the defending champion Florida Panthers in a trade with the Chicago Blackhawks. The Blackhawks sent the veteran defenseman, along with a 2026 fourth-round pick, to Florida in exchange for goaltender Spencer Knight and a 2026 first-round pick.

Chicago will also retain $2.5 million of Jones’ $9.5 million salary for the next five seasons. The trade follows Jones’ public request to be moved ahead of this year’s deadline, as he seeks a chance to compete for a Stanley Cup. Jones, 30, has 27 points in 42 games this season, while Knight, 23, has shown promise as a backup to Sergei Bobrovsky in Florida.
