The Detroit Lions have emerged as a potential destination for Cleveland Browns pass rusher Myles Garrett, who has requested a trade and is expected to attract significant interest.

However, Lions general manager Brad Holmes made it clear that acquiring the NFL Defensive Player of the Year won’t be easy and might not align with the team’s current strategy.
At the NFL scouting combine, Holmes emphasized the need for an edge rusher to complement star Aidan Hutchinson but acknowledged the high cost of adding another star. While the Lions are looking to improve their pass rush depth, Holmes suggested that no single player, including Garrett, would be a “magic solution” to the team’s needs.
Holmes also reiterated the Lions’ approach to roster building—prioritizing long-term depth over splashing for one big name—despite their Super Bowl aspirations. While Garrett remains a possibility, the Browns also seem hesitant to part with him, with GM Andrew Berry expressing a desire to keep Garrett in Cleveland.
