In 2022, the Yankees’ trade deadline was a rollercoaster of strange moves: sending Jordan Montgomery for Harrison Bader, unloading Joey Gallo, and acquiring Andrew Benintendi and Frankie Montas—both of whom were sidelined by injuries almost immediately.
