“As the voice of the Rangers for four decades, Sam Rosen has become the very heartbeat of Rangers hockey,” said Chris Drury, Rangers President and GM. “His professionalism, passion, and deep connection with fans have earned him unparalleled respect across the hockey world. The celebration will include a special pregame on-ice ceremony, along with Rosen-themed experiences throughout Madison Square Garden. Fans can look forward to an unforgettable tribute to the voice behind some of the most legendary moments in Rangers history.

Rosen, who announced the 2024-25 season would be his final one in the booth, has been calling Rangers games since 1984. His unforgettable words on June 14, 1994—“This one will last a lifetime!”—will forever echo in the hearts of fans. A multi-award-winning broadcaster, Rosen’s remarkable career has earned him four New York Emmy Awards, the 2016 Foster Hewitt Memorial Award, and induction into both the Hockey Hall of Fame and the New York State Hockey Hall of Fame. Most recently, he was named the recipient of the 2024 Lester Patrick Trophy for his outstanding contributions to hockey in the U.S.

With his legendary career spanning across hockey and football, Rosen’s retirement marks the end of an era for Rangers fans who have followed his voice through countless unforgettable moments.
