It’s fight or shut up time for the Michigan Wolverines. A rough start to the season (2-1) worries many fans, who worry about a Big Ten schedule that looks tougher with each passing week. A big factor in this situation is next week for the Wolverines, who host the USC Trojans 2-0 and 11th.
Big Ten newcomers Los Angeles got the year off to a great start as they defeated the LSU Tigers 27-20 in the final seconds of their season opener. In week two, they responded with a blowout victory (48-0) against the Utah State Aggies, totaling 544 yards. So far, they are averaging 495.5 yards per game, with more than 300 through the air.
Clearly, Michigan needs to slow down the Trojans’ passing attack to have any chance of winning this game in Ann Arbor. A much-improved USC defense makes the visitors a contender this season not just for the Big Ten, but for the College Football Playoff and beyond. These are the guys Sherrone Moore and the Wolverines will have to keep an eye on as they look to turn things around on Saturday.
